RS Leadership Team
Cameron Parr, General Manager
Cameron was appointed to the newly created position of General Manager late in 2009 and brings the skills and experience gained from 25 years within the parks and open-space industry - twenty of those years being within the Auckland City Council. During this time, Cameron held a number of positions, the latest being as Group Manager of Arts, Community and Recreation Services.
This background has positioned Cameron well for his new role. Developing collaborative relationships was a primary performance driver in his former role, a commitment he took to heart and carries forward today. He also became well known and respected by a number of the team he now leads, and customers he now deals with. Both of these factors place him at a considerable advantage as he strives to build on the strong culture that makes Recreational Services the company it is, while strengthening relationships and networks within the wider industry.
In appointing Cameron, the Board has secured a key team member who shares an unbridled passion for the core of their business - parks and green spaces - and is a strong values and cultural fit. He also brings key insights into local government operations, of particular value given that Councils are our biggest customers, and adds strength in technical, management and visionary skills to the executive team.
Cameron reports to the Board of Directors, and holds responsibilities for senior managers, their teams and the operational focus of the business.
