The Annual Bluelight Golf Tournament – 26 November 2010

For the 4th year Recreational Services has sponsored the Bluelight Golf day at Takapuna Golf course.

Bluelight is a voluntary arm of the New Zealand Police that provides support for youth in our communities. It is a national body and does some great work around the country. Every year the event gets bigger and better - with a shot-gun start 26 teams hit the course at the same time.

Recreational Services provided 5 of those teams made up of staff, customers and suppliers.

The sun was out and the course was in superb condition, Deano and his team did a great job under some trying conditions. Clive and the girls from the office manned the RS BBQ truck for the day providing an assortment of food and beverages to keep everyone going. Unlike the previous 3 years an RS team did not win the event but we did compete admirably. Big hats off to Dave and the Management team from Far North District Council who took the day off work to travel down and play, they were almost the last to leave soaking up the hospitality.
